Auto-Purchase lets you secure a ticket without having to watch for waitlist alerts. When a matching ticket becomes available, Tixel automatically purchases it on your behalf using your saved card details.

How Auto-Purchase works

When you set up Auto-Purchase, Tixel will attempt to purchase the next available ticket that matches your selected preferences and falls within your chosen price range.

A few important things to understand:

  • Auto-purchase does not guarantee you the cheapest available ticket - it secures the next available ticket within your selected maximum price.
  • A ticket may be purchased from any seller who has a listed ticket that matches your preferences.
  • Your chances of securing the ticket you want improve the higher you set your maximum price, as more listings will fall within your range.
  • Setting up auto-purchase for tickets on an event does not automatically sign you up to receive waitlist alerts
  • Setting up auto-purchase means that if a ticket matching your preferences becomes available, it will be purchased for you using your saved details. There is no option to review the ticket/purchase before a ticket is secured.
    • If you would like the option to review available tickets before purchasing, you can sign up for waitlist alerts for your desired event

Setting up Auto-Purchase

  1. Make sure your saved card is up to date and not expired — update it at tixel.com/settings/finances/card
  2. Go to the event page on Tixel
  3. Click Join Waitlist, then Set up Auto-Purchase
  4. Select your ticket type(s), number of tickets, and whether you'd like them from the same seller
    • Choosing same-seller increases the chance of getting seats next to each other at reserved seating events
  5. Set your maximum price — the higher the maximum, the better your chances
  6. Fill in your personal and name-change details — make sure the name is correct, as it cannot be changed after purchase

Price caps

Tixel caps ticket prices at face value +10% in AU, NZ and EU, and +20% in UK and US. Some events may have specific price caps in place. You can set your maximum price at the cap without risk of overpaying.

Important Information

  • 2FA: Some card issuers require two-factor authentication on purchases. If your bank triggers 2FA, the Auto-Purchase may fail because you won't be present to complete the verification in time. Check with your bank if this is a concern
  • Multiple tickets: Tixel cannot guarantee that two or more tickets will be purchased simultaneously, or that reserved seats will be adjacent — even if you select the same seller preference
  • No refunds for incorrect purchases: If you set up Auto-Purchase with incorrect preferences, Tixel is unable to refund the transaction due to change-of-mind or incorrect settings. You can resell the ticket on Tixel via the reselling instructions here
  • Selecting 'Any' ticket will secure any entry ticket to the selected event once they become available.
